At Borgman Ford, we want to ensure you’re getting the best service at the best prices. We strive to lead our customers to the endless benefits Ford offers their customers. Visit our page for an even more comprehensive look at Ford’s ESP plans.

Why Buy a Ford Extended Service Plan?

We’re proud to say that it’s plan is the ONLY extended service plan (ESP) backed by the Ford Motor Company. By paying for future repairs at today’s ESP cost, you will be protected against inflation and increasing parts and labor costs. It’s as simple as this: one repair bill can easily exceed the price of your Ford ESP coverage. The coverage can quickly pay for itself!

What is included in every service plan:

  • Service at all Ford and Lincoln dealers in the U.S. and Canada
  • Genuine Ford parts and service – all repairs are made with genuine Ford parts by factory trained and certified technicians
  • 24-hour roadside assistance (call 1-800-241-3673 toll free)
  • Rental vehicle benefits – provides coverage for up to 10 days of rental for a covered repair
  • Interest free payment option – finance your coverage in monthly installments with no interest or fees; everyone qualifies

So which of the four main plans is right for you?
From foundational coverage to Ford’s most exceptional coverage plan, read below and find out what level is fit for you.

Ford ESP PowertrainCare is the foundation for all new vehicle component plans. If you want the advantages of a Ford extended warranty but only want major mechanical component protection due to budget or other reasons, this is the plan for you. 29 vital components covered for New and Used vehicles.

Congratulations to Audrey TeBos, Winner of the $5,000 Giveaway!

December 13th, 2013

audreytebos_winnerAudrey TeBos not only got a “new best friend” when she purchased her Ford Focus SE last month…to her surprise she also received a nest egg to help launch her career.

At first, the recent Grand Valley State University graduate  thought the multiple messages from Borgman Ford’s Matt Cameron were an unusually enthusiastic  follow-up to her recent purchase. But when she found out that in fact she’d won $5,000 in Borgman’s Cash Giveaway, to say she was shocked would be an understatement.

“I couldn’t believe it. I had to pinch myself. In fact, I still can hardly believe it,”  the 24-year-old said Friday when she visited the dealership to pick up her check.

The cash couldn’t come at a better time for Audrey. As a GVSU graduate who majored in Sports Management, she’s on a countrywide search for the perfect job to launch her career in collegiate athletics.

“I may have to to move for employment purposes, so this will help make for a very good start,” she said.

The team at Borgman is delighted that the Cash Giveaway winner turned out to be a young graduate starting out, and that the money will help launch her job search and ultimate career move.

“This is just like watching someone open a great gift on Christmas morning,” said Matt Borgman, General Manager, after meeting with Audrey to deliver her check.

Audrey’s brother, Chris, has other ideas about what she should do with her winfall, centering around gift-giving. He’d like a PS4 in his stocking. However, Audrey thinks sister-Santa may not be squandering her new-found nest-egg on games when things like rent and relocation loom.

Ford Reduces Oil and Water Use in Plants Through Dry Machining

October 22nd, 2013

rainbow ecotown - modern abstract ecology town illustrationAs part of its commitment to sustainability, Ford Motor Company has added its dry machining capability to six plants globally – a number that will nearly double in the next few years.

Near-dry machining, also known as Minimum Quantity Lubrication or MQL, is a process that lubricates cutting tools with a fine spray of oil exactly when and where it is needed. In comparison, conventional wet machining floods the part with metal-working fluids, requiring large amounts of fluid to cool and lubricate the tools used to make engines and transmissions.

For a typical production line, MQL can save more than 280,000 gallons of water per year, or enough to fill 5,600 average-sized bathtubs. Cologne Engine Plant in Germany decreased water use per engine by 50 percent from 2011 to 2012 by switching to the MQL process.

“Reducing the environmental footprint of our plants is a critical part of Ford’s overall sustainability commitment,” said Andrew Hobbs, director of Ford’s environmental quality office. “Expanding new processes such as MQL across our global network of facilities allows us to have an even greater impact.”

MQL also reduces the amount of oil needed to machine an engine or transmission 80 percent or more, to approximately 100 milliliters – or about half the size of an average drinking glass. Without the need for a coolant system across most engine production lines, MQL also helps to reduce energy use. While conventional wet machining produces an airborne mist, MQL eliminates that mist, improving air quality in the plant. Read the rest of this entry »

Chicago Woman Still Owns First Mustang Ever Sold in U.S.

October 21st, 2013

chicagomustangThe folks at Borgman Ford thought our Mustang fans would enjoy this story from Ford Social — the woman who as a college grad bought the first Mustang ever sold in the U.S. still has it — and still drives it! How cool is that? Bet our friends at the Mustang Club would love to connect with Gail Wise! We’re gearing up to celebrate 50 years of the iconic muscle car, which officially went to market in April 1964.

By Tori Tellem
Ford Social

Gail Wise walked into a Ford dealership looking for a convertible to drive around Chicago, where she lived and worked after having just graduated from college. They didn’t have any such models, save for one car tucked quietly away in back. She bought it on the spot.

It wasn’t until the moment she drove it off the lot that she had an inkling she might be behind the wheel of something special. Two days later that was confirmed: Almost 50 years ago, and two days before it officially went on the market, Gail took ownership of the very first Ford Mustang sold in the U.S. Read the rest of this entry »

Mazda Crowned with KBB 5-Year Cost-to-Own Award

February 22nd, 2013

At Borgman Mazda, we hear a lot about awards, some of which are given out based on more solid criteria than others. This one, the Kelley Blue Book 5-Year Cost to Own awards, seems like one that new car shoppers should pay attention to.

The cost of a car goes far beyond what you pay for the actual metal, leather and rubber at the point of purchase. Fuel, insurance, maintenance and repair costs, and the cost of fees from the state and financing will all weigh on your wallet while you own the car. That’s not even taking into account the biggest cost: depreciation, or the amount of money you lose based on what your car is worth years from now versus the day you bought it.

KBB tracks these sorts of things, and they’ve compiled a list of winners for 2013 models. On the brand level, Mazda has earned the 5-Year Cost to Own award for having the lowest overall projected five-year totals. Read the rest of this entry »
